The Royal Air Force Museum is looking for a Visitor Experience Supervisor at its London site. The job comes with an annual salary of £23,316.31 and is offered on a permanent, part-time basis. The person hired will be responsible for helping the museum run smoothly and making sure visitors feel welcome when they arrive. Much of the work involves looking after the front-of-house team, helping staff and volunteers with their daily duties and dealing with visitor questions or problems. The supervisor will also help organise staff rotas, support museum events and make sure the galleries and public areas remain safe and presentable. It is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys dealing with people and can keep things under control when the museum gets busy.
Previous experience in a supervisory role is important, particularly in customer service, tourism, museums, heritage or a similar workplace. The museum wants someone who can communicate clearly, work well with others and handle unexpected situations without losing focus. Applicants should also have a basic understanding of workplace safety, fire procedures, safeguarding and security. Being willing to hold a First Aid qualification is another requirement. The position includes 1,250 working hours across the year, so weekly hours will not always be the same. During busy periods, shifts can reach 35 hours a week, while quieter periods may involve just 4 hours. Weekend and bank holiday work is part of the schedule, with occasional evening or overnight duties too. Applications must be submitted by 11 November 2026, and interviews are planned for 20 November 2026.
