Full Job Description

Serco is looking for a Technical Services Manager to join its team at Wycombe Hospital in High Wycombe. The position offers a salary of up to £65,000 a year, along with a company car and a range of employee benefits. This is a permanent, full-time job with working hours of 37.5 hours a week, normally from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. There may also be some weekend, evening or night work depending on the needs of the hospital. The person taking on this role will be responsible for helping to keep the hospital’s buildings, equipment and technical services running properly and safely. It is an important role in a healthcare setting where reliable facilities are needed every day.

The Technical Services Manager will oversee day-to-day estates and facilities work, making sure maintenance is completed and health and safety requirements are followed. The role also includes managing planned maintenance, supporting the estates team and working closely with NHS stakeholders, clients and other service providers. Serco is looking for someone with an HNC, HND or similar qualification, or strong experience in a relevant technical field. Experience in building services, healthcare estates, team leadership and budget management would be useful for this position. An IOSH Managing Safely qualification or higher is also required. Requirements

• HNC, HND or an equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline, or strong industry experience.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification or a higher Health and Safety qualification.
• Good knowledge of building services and technical facilities management.
• Experience working within healthcare estates or a similar environment.
• Previous experience managing and leading a team.
• Experience handling budgets, maintenance work and service improvement projects.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with clients, NHS stakeholders, colleagues and external service providers.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and statutory requirements.
• Ability to make decisions and manage operational issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day technical estates and facilities management services.
• Make sure buildings, equipment, plant and infrastructure remain safe and operational.
• Plan and manage planned preventative maintenance for engineering systems.
• Make sure health, safety, contractual and statutory requirements are followed.
• Support the Contract Manager and represent the Estates department when required.
• Lead, support and develop members of the Estates team.
• Build good working relationships with clients, NHS stakeholders and third-party providers.
• Manage operational risks and maintenance activities across the estate.
• Support asset replacement programmes and service improvement work.
• Help manage budgets, control costs and identify opportunities to improve services.
