SSE is currently looking for experienced Land Managers to join its team in Scotland and work on major electricity infrastructure projects. The role is available in Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen, and employees will be expected to spend around 50% of their working week in the office. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a salary of £64,085 to £76,581 per year, plus a car or cash allowance and a range of additional benefits. The main focus of the role is to help secure the land rights needed for important energy projects, including 400kV overhead lines, underground cables and substations. The successful candidate will deal with landowners and occupiers, discuss proposed routes and site locations, and help manage different land-related matters throughout each project. The role also includes preparing wayleaves and compulsory purchase orders, negotiating servitudes and wayleaves, assessing the effect of infrastructure on land and businesses, and helping with valuation and compensation assessments.
For these Land Manager Jobs in Scotland, SSE is looking for someone who understands land ownership systems and land management practices in Scotland. Experience with land and property rights, wayleaves, servitudes, land acquisition and compensation would be particularly useful. The role also requires someone who can stay organised, manage multiple priorities, and communicate confidently with different people. Good project management and problem-solving skills will be important when working with landowners, internal teams and other stakeholders. In addition to salary, SSE offers a range of employee benefits, including private medical insurance, gym membership, employee discounts, a cycle-to-work scheme, and wellbeing support. Employees can also access a free online GP service and 24/7 counselling. This could be a good opportunity for an experienced Land Manager who wants to work on large-scale energy projects and be part of the development of Scotland’s electricity network.
