SSE is looking for a Land Consents Manager to join its team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is available across a number of locations, including New Forest, Poole, West London, Slough, Reading, Swindon, Melksham, Andover, Oxford, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Aldershot and Petersfield. The salary is between £45,452 and £60,899 a year, depending on your skills and experience. The successful candidate will be involved in important electricity infrastructure projects and will help SSE secure the land and property rights needed to deliver this work. This can include projects involving underground cables, overhead lines and ground-mounted plant. You will work with landowners, tenants, public bodies and other organisations, so building good working relationships will be an important part of the job. The role is a good opportunity for someone who already has experience in land consents and wants to work on projects that support the UK’s changing energy network.
In this position, you will help plan land consent strategies and manage agreements such as wayleaves, easements, land purchases, leases and access permissions. You will also deal with compensation claims and work with different stakeholders to help projects move forward smoothly. SSE is looking for someone who is organised, confident in negotiation and able to communicate effectively with different people. Experience of securing voluntary or statutory consents for capital projects will be useful, along with knowledge of relevant consent and environmental legislation. A full, current driving licence is also required. The position comes with several employee benefits, including private medical insurance, gym membership discounts, an Employee discount, and access to the Cycle to Work scheme. There are also wellbeing and family benefits available, making this a practical opportunity for an experienced professional looking to build their career in the energy and infrastructure sector.
