The Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT) is hiring an Investment Manager for its National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF) team in London. The role is suited to someone with experience in venture capital or investment management who understands how technology businesses grow. You will look at companies that may be worth investing in, review their plans and finances, and help decide which opportunities are right for the fund. The work covers artificial intelligence, quantum technology, space and other new technologies. These investments support businesses developing technology important to the UK’s national security. The London salary is £63,165 to £71,040 a year. The contract lasts two years, with hybrid working and full-time or part-time options. You may work with businesses at different stages of growth.
You will also stay in touch with companies that have received investment, check their progress and keep the fund’s records up to date. The job involves speaking with venture capital firms, investors and technology companies about new ideas and possible deals. Research and attending industry events will also be part of the work.
