The British Army is hiring for a full-time Electrician position, with pay starting at £27,282 per year. You don’t need to have worked as an electrician before for this job. The Army provides the training, so you will learn everything from the basics. The work includes electrical installations, power generation, underground cables, fire and intruder alarm systems, and single- and three-phase electrical systems. You may also work in different locations as part of the role. After joining, you will first complete your initial Army training. You will then complete electrical training at the Royal School of Military Engineering. This includes 12 weeks of military engineering training and 33 weeks of electrical training, including wiring and power generation.
There is also a chance to gain qualifications that can be useful outside the Army. These include Level 3 and Level 4 Diplomas in Electrotechnical Studies and Practice. The salary starts at £27,282 and increases as you progress in the Army. You will get 30 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays and extra leave after operations. Other benefits include free medical and dental care, cheaper living costs, and free gym and sports facilities. You can also take part in sports and adventurous training and have the chance to travel. It’s a full-time role for someone who wants to learn electrical work, get qualified, and gain experience without needing to come into the job with an electrical background.
