The British Army is looking for people who want to become soldiers and learn useful skills at the same time. This full-time role pays £27,282 a year and includes an apprenticeship alongside your military training. There are different areas to choose from, including engineering, ICT, driving, plumbing, bricklaying, carpentry, cooking and business administration. Your apprenticeship will be fitted around your Army training, so you can work towards a recognised qualification without putting your military training to one side. Along the way, you will get practical experience, learn how to work as part of a team and develop skills that could also help you if you decide to move into a civilian career in the future.
There is more to the role than just training and work. Soldiers receive 38 days of paid leave, with food and accommodation available at a subsidised cost. You will also have access to gym and sports facilities, as well as free medical and dental care. As you progress in the Army, there are opportunities to gain more qualifications and learn new skills. Depending on your role and training, you may also get the chance to travel and experience different places. For someone who wants a hands-on career, enjoys learning and is ready for the challenge of Army life, this role offers the chance to earn while training and gain a qualification at the same time.
